F2's GeoPol RP showcase, rules & application topic

on Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:31 pm
Greetings you all good peeps - I spent some time thinking about a fresh new rp game to do in here, and I tought we should have a simply Geopolitic RP game, given that we know eachothers for playing p&w, we all have in common some sorta of interest in politics or things like that, so here's some words about this game.

F2'S GEOPOL RP

base concept
1.In this game each players create and rule a country; it can either be a real or a fake one.
2.Game start at January the 1st of 2016 and the lenght of a turn is a month - the gamemaster declares the turn changes after each player has declared their action for the turn. Each turn every nation earn 5 nation points by default.
3. While creating your nation you has to allocate a certain number of points: this way there's not umbalanced or overpowered nations. Everyone starts up with 25 points to allocate on their nation's assets.
4. To start playing, first of all you create your character and your nation following these forms:

Name:
Gender:
Birth day:
Profession:
Description:

Name: your ruler's name
Gender: your ruler's gender
Birth day: your ruler's bday
Profession: the name of your leader's position (i.e. king, president...)
Description: describe your character, add physical description, attitudes, and so on...

Nation's name:
Nation's flag:
Nation's GDP:
Nation's GDP per capita:
Nation's soldiers:
Nation's tanks:
Nation's airforce:
Nation's navy:

Nation's name: your nation's name
Nation's flag: your nation's flag - please provide a picture
Nation's GDP: your nation's GDP: decide between 1. developing country's GDP (1 nation point)[decide an amount between $27.62 billion to $57.62 billion, 2. balanced GDP (3 nation points) [decide an amount between $72.26 billion to $1.52 trillion, 3. rich country's GDP (5 nation points) [decide an amount between $2.73 trillion to $5.23 trillion. Your GDP is the standard index of your nation's wealth.
Nation's soldiers: your infantry forces: decide between 1. low infantry (1 nation point) [decide an amount between 15.000 to 30.000 soldiers 2. normal infantry (3 nation points) [decide an amount between 40.000 to 80.000 soldiers] 3. high infantry (5 nation points) [decide an amount between 100.000 to 250.000 soldiers]
Nation's tanks: your tank force: decide between 1. low tank force (1 nation point) [decide an amount between 1.000 to 3.000 tanks 2. normal tank force (3 nation points) [decide an amount between 4.000 to 8.000 tanks] 3. high tank force (5 nation points) [decide an amount between 10.000 to 25.000 tanks]
Nation's airforce:your airforce: decide between 1. low airforce (1 nation point) [decide an amount between 100 to 300 aircrafts 2. normal airforce (3 nation points) [decide an amount between 400 to 800 aircrafts] 3. high airforce (5 nation points) [decide an amount between 1.000 to 2.500 aircrafts]
Nation's navy: your navy: decide between 1. low navy (1 nation point) [decide an amount between 10 to 30 vessels 2. normal navy (3 nation points) [decide an amount between 40 to 80 vessels] 3. high navy (5 nation points) [decide an amount between 100 to 250 vessels]

5. Decide your position in the world:

Each region of the world costs 1 nation point: first one is for free.
Just tell where, I will edit the map accordingly. Each region has place for 1 nation improvements:

intelligence comms: increase your intelligence capability - each one increase of 25% both your spy ops defence and attack. Everyone starts with 0% spy ops defence and 0% spy ops attack - more info to come later in this documentation. Cost 5 nation points.

research lab: spend nation points to research various upgrades like nuclear weapons and so on. Cost 10 nation points.

industrial pole: yeld 3 nation points each month. Cost 3 nation points.

the game
The gamemaster will declare a new turn has started: each player declare their action for the turn:

1. Meet/embargo another nation
2. Declare/peace on a nation
3. Ally/unally with a nation
4. Move/withdraw your troops into a territory
5. Build/destroy a nation improvement
6. Expand/decrease your GDP
7. Expand/decrease your soldiers
8. Expand/decrease your tanks
9. Expand/decrease your airforce
10. Expand/decrease your navy
11. Research/spy something

1. Meet/embargo another nation
Meeting another nation allows you to:
a. enstabilish a trade deal: each nation get one extra nation point per month
b. embargo a nation: the targeted nation lose half of their nation point revenue's each month until the embargo is over - and embargo lasts 12 months.
c. Roleplay diplomatical issues and circumstances.

2. Declare/peace on a nation
a. Declare war on a nation
b. Demand peace - peace talks will take place if the other nation agree to let them take place

3. Ally/unally with a nation
a. Demand an alliance to another nation
b. Break an alliance with another nation

4. Move/withdraw your troops into a territory
a. Move a certain number of troops into a territory - to claim a territory you must move a certain amount of troops into that territory and spend one resource point to acquire it. When you move your troops into another player's territory, a battle take places - more informations further in this documentation

5. Build/destroy a nation improvement
Spend a certain amount of nation points to build an improvement on one of yours territories.

6. Expand/decrease your GDP
7. Expand/decrease your soldiers
8. Expand/decrease your tanks
9. Expand/decrease your airforce
10. Expand/decrease your navy

11. Research/spy something
If you have research center you can research new technologies - if you have enough spy ops attack you can try to sabotage an enemy nation

military strenght
Each soldier has a strengh of 0.1
Each tank has a strengh of 1
Each airplane has a strenght of 5
Each ship has a strenght of 10
Each missile has a strenght of 20
Each nuclear weapon has a strenght of 50

war and battles
When war is declared, you can move your troops to an enemy territory - then a battle takes place.
At game start all of your troops are in your first region - you can move part of your army in any territory you wish, but you can do this only one time per turn.
A battle is won by the most strong between attacker or defender.
The winner get the disputed territory.

spy ops
after each succesfull spy op you can:
a - damage your enemy's troops: get a chance to reduce their army (1% to 10% reduction, decided by gamemaster)
b - steal part of your enemy's nation point wallet: (10% to 50% loot, decided by gamemaster)
c - destroy an enemy's nation improvement (gamemaster decide if you are succesful or not)

special events
let them happen

for further questions ask in this topic.

Use this topic for applying and telling your hopinion about this game too Wink

seems a little interesting but it's so vague

and does geography play a role? if so, getting russia might be overpowered, too long to conquer

First of all, thanks for showing interest in this game/project. I just trowed these ideas out here hoping for you guys helping me develop a more complex and interesting rp game to play in here. I haven't been thinking about this since I started working on forum tags, but if enough peeps show interest on this, we could fix the vague and hard to play things and start a game Smile

About you question: regions are mere graphics of your nation, you could have a small chunk of africa and have it fill with every kind of power and richness, while you could have all of the russia without nothing but grass; so size do not matter as long you have lots of points to play with. Russia count as a region, like Italy, however Russia is way larger than Italy, but that doesen't matter.

I'll improve these rules if you guys are interested about giving this a try Wink

Have your best day

I'm all for RP, but less complicated is better. I'm not looking for a p&w in p&w. That being said, I'm not trying to quash your idea, maybe several people will go for it.
