F2's GeoPol RP showcase, rules & application topic
Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:31 pm
Greetings you all good peeps - I spent some time thinking about a fresh new rp game to do in here, and I tought we should have a simply Geopolitic RP game, given that we know eachothers for playing p&w, we all have in common some sorta of interest in politics or things like that, so here's some words about this game.
base concept
1.In this game each players create and rule a country; it can either be a real or a fake one.
2.Game start at January the 1st of 2016 and the lenght of a turn is a month - the gamemaster declares the turn changes after each player has declared their action for the turn. Each turn every nation earn 5 nation points by default.
3. While creating your nation you has to allocate a certain number of points: this way there's not umbalanced or overpowered nations. Everyone starts up with 25 points to allocate on their nation's assets.
4. To start playing, first of all you create your character and your nation following these forms:
5. Decide your position in the world:
Each region of the world costs 1 nation point: first one is for free.
Just tell where, I will edit the map accordingly. Each region has place for 1 nation improvements:
intelligence comms: increase your intelligence capability - each one increase of 25% both your spy ops defence and attack. Everyone starts with 0% spy ops defence and 0% spy ops attack - more info to come later in this documentation. Cost 5 nation points.
research lab: spend nation points to research various upgrades like nuclear weapons and so on. Cost 10 nation points.
industrial pole: yeld 3 nation points each month. Cost 3 nation points.
the game
The gamemaster will declare a new turn has started: each player declare their action for the turn:
military strenght
Each soldier has a strengh of 0.1
Each tank has a strengh of 1
Each airplane has a strenght of 5
Each ship has a strenght of 10
Each missile has a strenght of 20
Each nuclear weapon has a strenght of 50
war and battles
When war is declared, you can move your troops to an enemy territory - then a battle takes place.
At game start all of your troops are in your first region - you can move part of your army in any territory you wish, but you can do this only one time per turn.
A battle is won by the most strong between attacker or defender.
The winner get the disputed territory.
spy ops
after each succesfull spy op you can:
a - damage your enemy's troops: get a chance to reduce their army (1% to 10% reduction, decided by gamemaster)
b - steal part of your enemy's nation point wallet: (10% to 50% loot, decided by gamemaster)
c - destroy an enemy's nation improvement (gamemaster decide if you are succesful or not)
special events
let them happen

First of all, thanks for showing interest in this game/project. I just trowed these ideas out here hoping for you guys helping me develop a more complex and interesting rp game to play in here. I haven't been thinking about this since I started working on forum tags, but if enough peeps show interest on this, we could fix the vague and hard to play things and start a game
About you question: regions are mere graphics of your nation, you could have a small chunk of africa and have it fill with every kind of power and richness, while you could have all of the russia without nothing but grass; so size do not matter as long you have lots of points to play with. Russia count as a region, like Italy, however Russia is way larger than Italy, but that doesen't matter.
I'll improve these rules if you guys are interested about giving this a try
Have your best day

I'm all for RP, but less complicated is better. I'm not looking for a p&w in p&w. That being said, I'm not trying to quash your idea, maybe several people will go for it.
